Healthy Tiffin Series: Crunchy Spinach Cheese Bombs

Packing a nutritious tiffin that kids actually enjoy can feel like a daily puzzle. That’s why we’re launching this Healthy Tiffin Series—easy, tasty, and secretly wholesome recipes that make lunchboxes exciting again. First up: Crunchy Spinach Cheese Bombs. These crispy bites are a clever twist on classic cheese balls, with greens and superfoods tucked in for guilt-free indulgence.

Ingredients (Makes 7–8 balls)

  • Handful of roasted makhana
  • 3 tsp oats
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • ½ cup paneer
  • 1 small broccoli floret
  • A few spinach leaves
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cube of cheese, grated
  • Chilli flakes, pepper powder, and salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Method

  1. Grind roasted makhana, oats, and sesame seeds into a fine powder.
  2. In the same blender, add paneer, broccoli, and spinach. Blend into a paste without adding water.
  3. Transfer the paste to a bowl. Add chopped onions, chilli flakes, pepper, salt, 3 tbsp of the powder, and grated cheese.
  4. Mix everything well and shape into small balls.
  5. Heat an appe pan and drizzle a little oil. Cook the balls on medium heat, turning gently until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

These Crunchy Spinach Cheese Bombs are perfect for school tiffins, after-school snacks, or even weekend treats. They’re crunchy, cheesy, and packed with nutrients—making them a win-win for both parents and kids.
