Finding the perfect balance between taste and nutrition can be a daily challenge for parents. If your child loves crispy snacks but you want to keep their meals wholesome, this Suji Paneer Waffle is a delicious compromise. Made with semolina (suji), curd, paneer, and colorful vegetables, it’s a protein-rich, fiber-packed option that works beautifully for school tiffins or after-school bites.
What makes this waffle special is its texture—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside—and its versatility. You can customize the veggies based on what your child enjoys or what’s available in your kitchen. Plus, the addition of paneer boosts calcium and protein, making it a smart choice for growing kids.
Ingredients (Makes 2–3 Suji Paneer waffles)
- 3 tbsp suji (semolina)
- 3 tbsp curd
- Finely chopped onion, capsicum, tomato, grated carrot
- Small paneer cubes
- Salt, black pepper, dhaniya powder, jeera powder
- Water to adjust consistency
- Ghee for greasing
Method for making Suji Paneer Waffle
- In a bowl, mix suji and curd. Let it soak for 10 minutes to soften.
- Add the chopped vegetables, paneer cubes, and spices.
- Add a little water to make the batter spreadable—not too thick, not runny.
- Preheat your waffle maker and grease it lightly with ghee.
- Pour the batter evenly and cook for 3–5 minutes until golden and firm.
- Serve warm with mint chutney, ketchup, or curd dip.
These waffles are not only visually appealing but also easy to pack and eat. You can cut them into strips or fun shapes to make them more exciting for younger kids. They’re also great for batch prepping—just store the batter in the fridge and cook fresh in the morning.
