Today’s fast paced modern life results into a very less quality time between families. Not many parents are available round the clock to help their little one grow along with them. But as a parent, you have to understand how meaningful it is to spend quality time with your kids.
Basically, Family time directly impacts the child’s social and emotional development. Hence, here are a few tips you can consider while planning your very next quality time with your kid –
1. Have a Morning Routine!
Start your morning with your little one, because it’s the best time of the day to be together. Everyone will be energetic enough to share a lot of conversation and activities. You can even set aside a few minutes to do yoga or meditation together and can play a little game. Moreover, you can even allot different activities to each member of the house, like folding blankets together or arranging dishes.
2. Go outdoors
Spending time with children outdoors is the best thing you can ever do. This will build a lasting emotional connection between you all. Having said this, you can take your kid to a nearest park or a garden and encourage them to play with you.
3. Plan a happy Meal Time
Mealtimes can get a lot stressful because many parents nowadays prefer eating all alone for the sake of mental peace, which is actually very wrong. Try joining your kid with you in different activities during mealtime, like keeping plates, refilling water, etc.
4. Play along with your children
Always let your little one chooses a game to play and without intervening much, try playing with them. Go with the flow and have some fun together by keeping aside the set of rules and regulations.
5. Read books together every day
Plan a reading time, and cuddle with books as much as you can. This will create a great bonding experience and would encourage your little one to read more throughout their life.
6. Encourage family time.
Set up a family time for the day and allow your kid to engage with every member of the family during those hours. Whether it’s game night, movie night, game night, or even a weekly family ride, the key is to have time designated for togetherness. Generally, fathers are not free enough to spend time with their kids, hence you can a daddy time too . Kids with engaged fathers do better in school, problem-solve more successfully, and generally cope better with whatever life throws at them.
7.Do chores together
Do involve your kids in household chores. Kids who help out consider themselves as important contributors to the family. This boasts their self-esteem and help in developing family connection. Research also shows that those children who help in chores are more responsible, and can deal with frustration and delay gratification.
8.Take pictures together
Well today we live in social media world and taking pictures have become lot of our routine but don’t look for perfect pictures for uploading on your social media handles rather take a silly selfie and giggled one. Capture those family moments and take videos. Everyone loves seeing themselves on video, so let your child have some great family memories. You’ll be surprised, it would be something that both of you would treasure
9. Bedtime story
Nothing can beat a good old bedtime story when it comes to spending quality time with kids. Whether it is a fairy tale or a mythological tale or a moral session that’s hidden in lessons of story, reading your child a tale is an act that develop a deep bond. This also promotes better sleep and growth.
Understand that children who spend a lot of quality time with their parents know the worth of team-work and they together built a positive sense of self-worth. Now, never fail to plan a activity wherein you can spend a lot of quality time with your little one!
